Chaos Front Campaign Walkthrough

A first-clear route that respects unique missions and the C.E.29 clock.

Campaign Walkthrough

This walkthrough is a first-clear spine, not a hex-by-hex spoiler dump. Chaos Front launched as a full game with two long campaigns. Developer logs put each protagonist near fifty missions, with at least half of those missions distinct. You will not finish “the” story in a weekend unless you skip the point. Use this page after getting started and beside missions.

The embedded video is a real mercenary-management session, useful for seeing the loop. It is not a substitute for your save file.

Hongyu briefing a Chaos Front story mission on the campaign map

Act 0 — Prologue habits

If you start as Lycurgus, expect a tutorial flag on the corps select card. Helen’s Impactor-style battleship, a champion mecha, a raider, and a sentry are the kind of opening toys the demo used. Move the hull. Sortie. Do not stack. Win the first pirate-shaped fight. Then go to a planet with a Mission Center instead of wandering every node “to see the art.”

Hongyu’s opening is political. She is a Gan royal descendant in the screenshots, already talking like someone who will send Shazhou troops. Do not play her as a mute Lycurgus reskin. Her unique missions are the reason a second campaign exists.

Act 1 — Get paid without getting owned

Take two or three Mission Center contracts you can win with light mecha and one ship. Recruit a spare pilot before you buy a third hull; recruitment is the bottleneck more often than the shop. Learn ram on a fight you can Quick Save. Read combat if a fighter vanishes and you think it is a bug.

Pick a paymaster. Consortium work is plentiful and morally stained. Revolutionary work is the Massilia story. Black Flag work is the defected fleet. Mixing all three in Act 1 makes Trusted unlocks late. Late ARMS are how builds stop being generic.

Act 2 — Faction maps and proposals

When ally proposals appear, read the planet stats. Economy, industry, defense, and stability are not decoration. Declaring war for 300 whatever-the-UI-calls-it is how you open a front you cannot staff. If a timed banner says Kowloon, go to Kowloon.

This is also when you should look at star rank every time you open Manage. If the number is not climbing, you are sightseeing. Repeatable campaign battles exist so you can farm without burning unique story maps. Arena exists so you can test a titan. Neither replaces unique missions for ending flags; see endings.

Act 3 — The long middle

Expect officers with Romance of the Three Kingdoms names to walk into the roster. The series always wore that influence on its sleeve; the screenshots make it literal. Check talents before you bench someone because their portrait is busy. Talents will save a melee frame you were about to sell.

Keep a mixed corps: a ship that rams, mecha that parry, a fighter that actually gets the first strike, artillery that is not in ram range. The mecha page and ships page are role sheets, not damage exploits.

Watch the date. C.E.26 and C.E.27 are the comfortable years in store art. C.E.29 is the wall. If you are still below star 6 in late C.E.28, stop shopping for palettes.

Act 4 — Final war, no last-shot spoilers

Upgrade to star 9 with time to spare. Buy the Trusted toys. Repair the aces. Then take the final battle when the game offers it. If you arrive at 30/12/C.E.29 unready, that is a bad ending, not a secret boss you can out-micro.

Hongyu’s late maps lean Consortium-Gan politics. Lycurgus leans celebrity-mercenary gravity. Both can see true endings. Neither can see all eight on one file.

If you get stuck

This walkthrough will grow after more retail hours exist. It will not grow by inventing boss HP. When a patch rearranges unique missions, launch notes is the first place we correct the spine.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers drawn from the launch build and official notes.

Is this a 100 percent walkthrough?

No. It is a first-clear spine. Collection completion wants both protagonists and the eight endings tracked in endings.

Can I follow this on Hongyu?

The operational loop is the same. Unique mission names differ. Do not skip her political contracts just because a Lycurgus video skipped them.

How long is a campaign?

Logs put each lead near fifty missions plus faction wars and arena. Plan for a long SRPG, not a weekend tactics demo.

Where do I go if I already finished the demo?

Jump to Act 1, then pin the ending checklist. The demo does not teach the C.E.29 clock.
