Chaos Front Factions of Centersea

Four unique unit lists. One mercenary corps. Do not join everyone in week one.

Factions Guide

Chaos Front puts you in a mercenary corps, not a nation. The galaxy around you still has nations. Developer logs say four factions field entirely unique units and unique missions. Trusted relationship at a faction’s Logistics desk is how exclusive ships and ARMS appear. This page is the paymaster sheet. Pair it with missions and builds.

Galactic powers versus your corps

The lore spine is stable across the store page and demo crawl:

  • Solaris Union fell in the Great Rebellion.
  • Three great powers could not finish each other: Republic of Legions, Gan Dynasty, Shining Federation.
  • They built the Interstellar Consortium, which became the exploitation machine.
  • In C.E.26 a revolution on Massilia pulled fleets into Centersea.
  • A Gan Dynasty fleet under Admiral Lee defected, renamed itself Black Flag, and aligned with revolutionaries. The front deadlocked. Mercenaries were legalized as filler.

You can take Consortium pay, revolutionary pay, or Black Flag pay. Mixing all three in Act 1 makes Trusted late. Late ARMS are how a generic mecha list stops being generic.

The four unique rosters

The logs do not publish a public table that maps “faction 1 = these twenty chassis.” What they do say: each of the four has unique units and unique missions. Treat in-game Logistics as the live catalog. When relationship hits Trusted, buy the exclusive hull that fills a hole in your build, not a fifth battleship.

Hongyu’s screenshots lean Gan-court politics and Shazhou proposals: a Revolutionary Army ask to send troops while the Gan Dynasty watches. Lycurgus still fights the same war as a celebrity gun. Campaign doors change which unique missions you see first. See protagonists.

Names from demo select — handle with care

Some demo videos list extra selectable brands besides Lycurgus Corps (viewers heard names like Tulip Knights, Mad Mask, Silver Horde). This wiki will not promote those as confirmed retail campaign doors. The store promise is two authored protagonists. Everything else is a faction, a hire, or a misheard subtitle. Trust the corps select cards in your build.

How to pick a paymaster

  1. Finish the prologue and one Mission Center contract. Getting started.
  2. Read the briefing: capture versus destroy still matters in faction battles. Combat.
  3. Pick the side whose unique toys you actually want.
  4. Fight enough of their battles to reach Trusted before you shop their Logistics.
  5. Do not declare war on a proposal screen the same week you need that planet for a story flag. Map.

Star 9 still cares that you complete unique missions. Faction grinding is not a substitute for the calendar. Pin the ending checklist.

Blackhole Gun and late Consortium toys

The June 2026 log introduced the Blackhole Gun as a Consortium closer: persistent miniature black holes, 500 HP at the start of each turn to anything in range, ram as a delivery system. You will not see it in the tutorial. Respect it in late maps whether or not you ever fire one yourself.

If you came here looking for a “best faction,” there is not one on launch week. There is a paymaster, a Trusted desk, and a date. For the operational loop, return to missions. For who you hire into those unique hulls, stay on recruitment.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers drawn from the launch build and official notes.

How many factions can I join?

You can take work from more than one paymaster, but Trusted exclusives want a relationship you actually fought for. Pick one late-game desk. See missions.

Are the four unique factions the same as Lycurgus and Hongyu?

No. Those two are campaign protagonists. The four unique unit lists belong to galactic powers and their war. Protagonists is the door; this page is the paymaster.

When do exclusive ships appear?

At Trusted, at that faction's Logistics, per the August development log. Relationship comes from fighting for them.

Should I help Shazhou?

Hongyu's proposal screens make that a political question with planet stats attached. Read the bars, then Quick Save. The map guide covers the node.
