Chaos Front Updates

Launch week first. Patch notes when they exist.

Updates Hub

Chaos Front spent three years in public monthly logs and then shipped. The Steam news feed is the official timeline. This hub is the wiki’s version: what launched, what the logs already taught us, and what we will update when Han Zhiyu posts a patch. Start with the launch notes. For a buyer’s read of the $19.99 launch and the Mostly Positive snapshot, use the launch review. Then keep endings and the ending checklist honest if a patch moves the calendar.

What “launched” means

The game is a full release on 3 September 2026. It is not Early Access. The developer skipped EA on purpose to finish both protagonists. Steam tags it as a paid single-player strategy RPG with achievements, cloud saves, full controller support, and Steam Deck Verified. Launch discount was advertised at 10 percent through 17 September 2026.

Early reviews sat at Mostly Positive with a small sample. That is a snapshot, not a lifetime grade. If the score moves, we will not pretend this page froze the universe.

What the monthly logs already locked in

You do not need to reread every 2024–2026 log to play, but a few systems were documented before ship and still matter:

  • Melee stats feed melee damage; parry exists; Fencer / Kung Fu Master / Lone Wolf.
  • Fighter hit-and-run now leaves the combat zone after an active attack.
  • Instakill on targets under 1,000 HP; Assassin talent ranks.
  • Blackhole Gun as a late Consortium weapon: 500 HP per turn in the hole, ram as delivery.
  • Trusted faction Logistics for exclusive ships and ARMS.
  • Two protagonists, eight endings, star 9 before 30/12/C.E.29.
  • Four factions with unique units and missions.
  • Arena plus repeatable campaign battles.

Those bullets are why combat, talents, and missions can exist on launch week without datamines.

How this wiki will treat patches

When a Steam news post changes a number, we change the page that owns that number. Unit counts live on the units hub. Calendar rules live on endings. We will not silently rewrite history in every article. The launch page stays a launch page.

If a hot-fix only touches crashes, it may only appear here as a line, not as a new guide. If a hot-fix changes star rank or instakill, it will be loud.

Where to look besides this site

Steam news hub for the app. Discord invite printed on the store page. Developer logs signed Han Zhiyu. The links hub holds those URLs without pretending we are official.

This is a single-player game. There is no live-service calendar of limited banners. The only calendar that can still ruin your week is C.E.29.

Read launch notes next. Then go play, and come back if a patch moves a gate.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers drawn from the launch build and official notes.

Is Chaos Front in Early Access?

No. The developer skipped EA and shipped the full version on 3 September 2026. See launch notes.

Will this wiki post every crash fix?

Gameplay-changing notes yes. Tiny crash lists may stay on Steam. We would rather keep combat accurate than clone the news feed.

Where are the old monthly logs?

On the Steam news hub for app 2770330. This wiki cites the systems they locked in rather than reprinting every portrait update.

Did the demo systems survive?

Sortie, ram, and the Lycurgus teaching corps did. Star 9 and Hongyu's full list are retail. Start at getting started if you are jumping from demo to launch.
