Chaos Front Characters

More than one hundred names. Two campaign doors. One war.

Characters Hub

Chaos Front sells units, then wins you with faces. The Steam page promises more than one hundred important characters: commanders, staff, merchants, pirates, scientists, psychics, robots, aliens. Some wear Romance of the Three Kingdoms names. Some are original portraits with messy hair and worse politics. This hub is the people layer. Pair it with protagonists, talents, factions, and recruitment.

Chaos Front officer portrait and unit card from the roster

Two campaigns, one sector

Lycurgus is the celebrity mercenary: mecha olympiad champion, tutorial flag on his corps card, a battleship that already has a reputation. Hongyu is the Gan royal descendant who refuses to remain a pawn. Developer logs say their mission lists stay at least half distinct. Collection art even puts both portraits on the same members card, which is a museum, not a promise that they walk together on hour one.

Pick one lead per save. Star 9 does not care that you wanted to main both. See endings.

Officers and cameo-looking names

Store shots show officers with names such as Xiahou Dun standing in the same UI as original characters. That is the Three Kingdoms influence made literal, not a crossover event with another publisher. Open the card. If they have a melee talent, they are a tool. If they have a staff role, they might be a proposal key. Do not bench a “cameo” until you read the talent line.

Helen-type captains on the opening hull are why Sortie works in the tutorial. Treat named crew as more valuable than a third empty raider.

Psychics, labs, ARMS

Developer logs flag psions, lab-enhanced humans, and psionic ARMS as a real late-game thread. They also mention darker incidents in the setting. This is still a single-player SRPG, not a horror title, but the roster is not only fighter jocks. If a recruit looks like a scientist, they might be the reason a faction exclusive works.

Archmagi named in a 2026 log — Trurly and Mo Ban — belong to the Tech Accord lore around Project Foundation. Do not expect them as hour-one hires. Do expect the setting to keep producing people who are not “generic pilot 12.”

How to use this hub

  1. Read protagonists before you create a second save.
  2. Read talents before you sell a mid-stat officer.
  3. Hire with recruitment before you buy a titan.
  4. Put the right person in the frames from mecha.
  5. Keep enough living aces to still fight in C.E.29; ending checklist.

We will add individual character pages when we can cite join conditions without guessing. Launch week is for the split, the talent rules, and the warning not to treat the roster as flavor art.

Chaos Front is single-player. Nobody else is using your officers. The only person who can fire them is you, usually by ram.
