Chaos Front True Ending Checklist

A one-page clock so the calendar does not eat your finale.

Last updated:

True Ending Checklist

Print this in your head. The Steam page already did: a bad ending triggers on 30/12/C.E.29 unless the mercenary group is upgraded to star 9 in time for the final battle. The long explanation is endings. This page is the pin.

Every save, every week

  • I know which protagonist this file is. Lycurgus or Hongyu, not both. See protagonists.
  • I looked at the in-game date this session. Store shots already show C.E.26 and C.E.27. C.E.29 is the wall.
  • I completed at least one unique story mission, not only Wait or arena.
  • Star rank moved, or I know why it did not.
  • Quick Save exists before I declare war on a proposal screen.

If you cannot tick those five, stop shopping for palettes.

Star 9 gates

  • Unique missions from Mission Centers are not being skipped for infinite repeats. Repeats are for gaps; uniques are for flags. Missions.
  • I have a paymaster. Trusted relationship is how exclusive ships and ARMS appear.
  • The corps can still fight: morale, EN, living aces. Empty titans do not raise star rank.
  • I am not spending Wait to hear the soundtrack. Wait spends calendar.
  • December C.E.29 will not be the first time I look at star rank.

Combat readiness for the finale

  • I can Sortie without stacking the entire roster on one hex. Getting started.
  • I understand ram friendly fire. Combat.
  • Fighters are first-strike tools, not occupation tools. Ships.
  • A melee ace actually has parry talents. Talents.
  • I have a mixed build, not eight of one sprite.

Late maps can include Consortium black holes (500 HP per turn in range). Do not stand in them. Do ram enemies in if the hex math is kind.

Collection honesty

  • I know eight endings exist and this file will not see all eight.
  • I will start the other protagonist on a second save instead of ruining a star-8 file.
  • Members / units / endings counters are a museum, not a reason to stall the calendar.

If you are already late

If the date chip is already deep into C.E.29 and star rank is low, stop taking sightseeing nodes. Run unique missions and repeatable campaign battles that still pay rank. Do not start a titan project. Do not start a New Game unless the file is already a write-off.

If you are still in C.E.26, you are rich in time and poor in excuses. Go play.

This checklist will change if a patch moves the date. Until then, the store sentence wins arguments. The updates hub is where a moved gate would be announced.

Date chips you will actually see

Store art already prints 15/6/C.E.26 on a campaign map, 1/10/C.E.27 on a Kowloon banner, and 30/11/C.E.27 on a Shazhou proposal. Those are not the fail date. They are proof the UI wants you to read the chip. If you cannot find the date, look at the top of the galaxy map and proposal screens before you Wait.

A useful personal note after each session: date, star rank, unique missions done this week, whether Trusted moved. Four numbers. If three of them are unchanged and you “played for hours,” you were sightseeing. Sightseeing is allowed in C.E.26. It is expensive in C.E.29.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers drawn from the launch build and official notes.

Is star 9 the only true-ending requirement?

It is the one the store printed in bold. Unique missions and faction flags still matter; this list assumes you are also playing the story on walkthrough.

Does this spoil the finales?

No. It lists clocks and habits. Cutscene text stays in the game.

Can I ignore faction Trusted?

You can, and then you miss exclusive Logistics toys. For a true-ending fight, Trusted is insurance, not flavor.

What if I already hit a bad ending?

Start a new file or reload a pre-December save. Do not overwrite your only Quick Save. See endings.
