Chaos Front Endings

Chaos Front tells you the fail state on the Steam store page in bold. A bad ending triggers on 30/12/C.E.29. Upgrade the mercenary group to star 9 before that date so you can start the final battle and reach the true endings. This is not a rumor. It is a launch warning from the developer. This page is the spoiler-light version of that clock. The clickable pin is the ending checklist.

Eight finales, two doors

The collection UI tracks Endings as a counter out of eight. Developer logs say the two protagonists can trigger eight different endings and that those storylines were designed before ship. Lycurgus and Hongyu do not share a single last cutscene. They share a war.

You will not get all eight on one save. Plan a Lycurgus clear and a Hongyu clear if you are a completionist. The collection screen is the museum; the star rank is the ticket.

This wiki will not paste every finale’s last line. Launch-week readers need the gate, not a transcript. When a patch lists ending names, they will go on updates.

What star 9 actually is

Star rank is the mercenary group’s public weight. It rises as you complete unique missions, campaign battles, and the kind of faction work that makes Logistics treat you as Trusted. It does not rise because you bought a titan. A five-star shopping spree with a two-star reputation is how captains meet 30 December with a pretty graveyard.

Keep a weekly habit:

• One unique story mission.
• One repeatable campaign battle if the unique list is dry.
• One relationship push toward the faction you need for ARMS and late maps.
• A roster check so injured aces are not your only star farmers.

Missions is the operational version of this list. Recruitment is why star rank without officers still feels weak in the finale.

The bad ending is a date, not a hidden flag

In-game dates already appear as 15/6/C.E.26, 1/10/C.E.27, 30/11/C.E.27 in store shots. C.E.29 is not far if you Wait on every node to hear the soundtrack. Spending time is a resource. Wait is a button that can kill a true ending.

If you arrive at 30/12/C.E.29 below star 9, the store says you get a bad ending. Do not test that on your only save. Quick Save exists; so does a second campaign slot for the other protagonist.

True ending prep without spoilers

1. Pick one protagonist and stay there; see protagonists.
2. Track star rank the way you track gold.
3. Do not skip unique missions for infinite arena.
4. Get Trusted with the faction whose late units you actually want; see builds.
5. Keep a corps that can fight a closer. The Blackhole Gun and similar late toys show up near the end, not in the tutorial.
6. Enter December of C.E.29 with star 9 already in the bag, not “one more shop.”

Achievement names hint at tone without spoiling the last shot: End of the Rebellion, Embers of Revolution, The Tyrant Must Die, Galactic Schism, Black Army Eastward, Shattered Dreams, Black Army Exodus, Chaos Sector. Treat them as museum labels, not a walkthrough.

New Game habits

After a clear, use the collection (members / units / endings) to see holes. A second run on the other protagonist is the intended way to fill the eight. Chaos Front is single-player; nobody is stealing your flags in a shared session.

If you are still learning Sortie, go back to getting started. If you are losing the fights that should be raising star rank, go to combat. The calendar does not care that the gold mecha looks like a Super Robot Wars poster.
