Chaos Front Arena
A pressure valve for unit tests. Not a true-ending farm.
Developer logs list an arena system next to unique missions and more than forty repeatable campaign battles. Arena is the place to try a fighter hit-and-run, a ram angle, or a titan you should not have bought yet, without burning a unique story map. It is not the star-9 machine. Pin the ending checklist before you live here.

What arena is for
Use it when:
- A new chassis arrived and you do not want the first Sortie to be a timed Kowloon banner.
- You need to feel fighter disengage after an active attack. Combat explains the rule; arena lets you see it.
- A melee ace with Fencer still dies and you want to know if the talent or the hex is the problem. Talents.
- You bought a faction exclusive at Trusted and need a sandbox. Factions.
Do not use it when the date chip is already in C.E.28 and star rank is idle. Repeatable campaign battles pay rank better than sightseeing. Unique missions pay flags. Arena pays knowledge.
Arena versus campaign battles versus unique missions
| Mode | Pays | Burns a flag | Best use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Unique story mission | Rank, story, ending flags | Yes if skipped | Star 9 and finales |
| Repeatable campaign battle | Rank, practice | No | Gaps in the calendar |
| Arena | Practice | No | Testing toys |
The walkthrough wants unique missions first. The map wants timed banners first. Arena waits until those two are not on fire.
A clean test script
- Quick Save the campaign file.
- Enter arena with the corps you actually field, not a museum stack.
- Sortie from the mothership the same way you do on story maps. Controls.
- Try one question per run: ram collision, fighter first strike, parry, instakill buffer above 1,000 HP.
- Leave. Spend gold only if the test answered yes.
Empty titans still do not parry in arena. Recruitment still decides whether the test is honest.
What this page will not fake
There is no public launch table of arena modifiers, ranking seasons, or rewards beyond “the system exists.” We will not invent a weekly ladder. If a patch publishes arena rules, they will land on updates. Until then, treat arena as a practice room attached to a single-player SRPG.
If you came here from a “Chaos Front farm” search, the farm that matters is unique missions before 30/12/C.E.29. Arena is how you stop using those missions as a laboratory. For the calendar, return to endings. For the toys you are testing, return to units.
Launch-week honesty
Han Zhiyu listed arena before ship as part of a content package that also included more than sixty unique missions. That is a design promise, not a live API of modifiers. If your build’s arena screen shows extra options this page does not name, trust the UI and write them down. We would rather leave a hole than invent a weekly challenge board that does not exist.
Practice ram on a Quick Save. Practice fighter first-strike until the unit leaving the screen stops feeling like a bug. Then go back to Centersea and spend the date on purpose. Arena is a room. The war is the map. The map guide is where the clock actually ticks.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers drawn from the launch build and official notes.
Does arena raise star rank?
Do not count on it for true endings. Unique missions and campaign battles are the rank tools cited in the logs. Pin the ending checklist.
Can I learn Sortie in arena instead of the tutorial?
You can practice there after you know the command exists. Learn the click path in getting started first.
Is arena multiplayer?
No. Chaos Front is single-player. Arena is a local test valve, not a lobby.
Should I buy a titan just for arena?
No. Test the corps you can staff. Titans are late gravity. See ships.
