Chaos Front Army Builds
Four corps lists that survive ram, morale, and the C.E.29 clock.
A Chaos Front “build” is a sortie plan, not a MOBA rune page. You pick a mothership, a melee job, a first-strike job, and a way to capture or hold hexes. Then you hire people who make those jobs true. This page offers four launch-week templates. Plug in real chassis names from your shop; do not wait for a fake S-tier paste. Pair with mecha, ships, and recruitment.
Build A — Teaching corps (Lycurgus opening)
- One ram-capable battleship you will Sortie from every fight.
- Champion-style mecha as the protected ace.
- Raider for flanks.
- Sentry or other adult frame that can eat a hit.
- Optional fighter only after you understand hit-and-run.
This is the demo shape on purpose. It teaches combat without a titan mortgage. Swap the ace only when a unique officer with better melee talents arrives.
Build B — Parry duelists
- Melee mecha staffed with Fencer, Kung Fu Master, or Lone Wolf.
- A backup gun frame so you are not helpless into a kite.
- Battleship that rams away from your duel hex, not through it.
- No eight-fighter meme.
Play this when you like Super Robot Wars clashing. Still Water / Spirit skills are the panic button. If you cannot parry, you built a costume, not a corps. See talents.
Build C — First-strike carriers
- Fighters that attack first, then leave.
- A ship that can actually occupy the hex the fighters abandoned.
- Light mecha for seize contracts.
- Artillery only on maps without a ram highway through your backline.
This build wins deletion and loses occupancy. Do not take capture missions unless a mecha remains on the grid. It is strong in arena tests and fragile in story seize maps from missions.
Build D — Trusted faction late game
- Relationship pushed to Trusted on one paymaster.
- Exclusive ship or ARMS from that Logistics desk.
- Mixed mecha plus the faction’s unique toys.
- A plan for Consortium black holes: do not stand in them, do ram enemies in if you can.
This is the star-9 corps. It is also the one that fails if you double-deal until December. The ending checklist is the calendar for this list.
Shared rules for every build
- People first. Empty hulls do not parry.
- Morale is damage. Routing aces are dead weight.
- Never stack the entire sortie on the ram line.
- Modifications change a chassis; they do not turn a sentry into a fighter.
- Gold spent after star rank stalls is vanity.
Hongyu can run any of these; her difference is political access, not a secret fifth template. Lycurgus can run any of these; his difference is a smoother tutorial and a celebrity door into the same war. See protagonists.
What we will not publish
No copied “best damage” tables. No invented Blackhole Gun player-build that the log says is a late Consortium weapon. No requirement to own DLC that does not exist. When patches shuffle exclusive ARMS, we will rewrite Build D, not the whole wiki.
If a template feels weak, the grid is telling you to open combat or to hire a captain. The shop is rarely the first fix.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers drawn from the launch build and official notes.
Which build is best for beginners?
Build A. It matches the Lycurgus teaching set. Move to B or D once parry and Trusted exist.
Can I mix B and C?
Yes, if you keep occupancy units. Fighters plus duelists without a holder lose seize maps. The units hub explains the jobs.
Do I need a titan in every list?
No. Titans are late gravity. Star 9 cares about a working corps, not a mascot.
Where do faction exclusives fit?
Build D. Get Trusted through missions, then replace a generic hull, not your only captain.
